This course will provide to learn how to design and stimulate educational activities of Critical Digital Literacy (collective learning, reflection, dialogue and activism on culture and digital technology) and a theoretical framework and tools for visibility, analysis, understanding, risk prevention and transformation in the use of social networks by children.
It is a theoretical-practical course that will have the revision of textual and audiovisual references of introduction to each of the units, and will be put into practice through the realization of individual and collective microactions of reflection, application and personal practice that allow an experiential learning applicable in the own environment of the participants.
Module 1: Fundamentals for a critical digital literacy
In this unit we will review how we understand digital literacy and know the current context of technology. We will also learn to build a critical perspective through a process of inquiry that awakens us the necessary questions.
Module 2: The Internet infrastructure as a common good
In this unit we will reflect on what we believe the Internet is and we will know how it works in reality. We will learn to identify some myths in our collective imagination and reflect on their implications. We will know some experiences that seek technological sovereignty and we will discover how to dynamize these reflections in the ICT Space.
Module 3: Technology as an object
In this unit we will know the fundamental pieces of the hardware and we will see the life cycle of this technology: from its manufacture until we throw it away. We will reflect on our role as users and consumers of technology. We will also explore how to discuss this topic in the ICT Space.
Module 4: In our operating system lies our freedom
In this unit we will learn to distinguish the common elements in the operating systems and we will know the life cycle of the software. We will reflect on the software as an intangible piece of the machines and also on the intangible of ourselves. We will discover how to facilitate this learning in the ICT Space.
Module 5: Fundamentals of Critical Digital Education as a structural framework
(a) Internet imaginary and digital citizenship in young people, (b) devices, consumerism and technoadications, (c) the culture of digital image, (d) algorithms and social networks in the modeling of human relationships.
Module 6: Understanding conflicts in digital relationships
(a) introduction of concepts, (b) analysis of reality and everyday uses, (c) practical cases.
Module 7: Transforming relationships mediated by technology
(a) building codes of coexistence in the digital environment, (b) strategies and personal and collective alternatives.
Module 8: Practical applications / cases
Design of activities for education / dynamism with children , how to deal with real case issues, practical suggestions for school cases, alternative preventive activities for children to fight with technology addiction,
Module 9: General
Spanish education system and educational program, already applying practices about digital literacy and prevention of technology addiction in schools, school visits and talks with teachers and experts
